OVERVIEW
This is a 1981 Chevrolet Corvette VIN ___________________ with about
72,000 original miles. It was mechanic-owned and is in excellent
survivor-driver condition. It is a base-motor car (350) with Auto, AC,
power steering, power brakes- power windows, original AM/FM cassette
stereo radio with CB, power windows, power DS seat, You may find a
similar car for a little less money - but you get what you pay for. We
have inspected this car from top to bottom and it is safe to drive and
enjoy while you work out any minor flaws over time!
EXTERIOR
The paint is original with some assorted chips, thin spots, cracks and
scratches. The body is straight and it does not appear to have ever been
wrecked. The front and rear clips have faded a darker shade and may or
may not have been repainted. The windshield frame is good. The tires are
fairly new. The underside has some typical rust and fluid seepage no
worse or no better than any of the other cars we service. Overall, my
opinion is that the exterior rates an 8 or 8.5 out of 10.
INTERIOR
The carpet is faded and worn, but the seats are brand new. Most of the
interior is respectable minus a few cracks and scuffs. Most all the
gauges work. There is one small cut about ½”" on the dash. Other than
that - I did not see any major flaws or wear.
MECHANICS
In its current status, the car starts, idles, drives, steers, shifts,
and stops smoothly. Most everything works minus the power antenna, the
RH power window, and the AC. The AC was converted to 134A and was not
hooked up right. The frame is solid with no stress cracks or excessive
corrosion.
SUMMARY
Obviously, if you drive this on a daily or weekly basis, things will
start to break and wear out same as there would be with any other car
let alone one that is 25 years old. Anyone is welcome to inspect the
vehicle by appointment in the Gaithersburg Maryland area. I am available
for questions from 1pm-9pm Mon-Sat toll-free at (800) 993-6540 or
locally (240) 876-0935.
